Areca Hotel Penang - George Town

Couldn't recommend more for a cursory stop

Charming hotel, pleasant experience, with a great location just steps from local hawker markets and good colonial-style architecture that offers a unique sense of comfort and happiness.

Fairly clean place & very kind staff who work in the kitchen and housekeepers.

it was perfectly located, right at kidland playground. the hotel was in a domestic area, just next door to joo hooi cafe, the restaurant downstairs, and penang, a great experience. the breakfast offered a wide range of food and was incredible and delicious.

Highly recommend for a great stay

The decor is very nice it feels like a time capsule with the history blending into modern comfort. The staff were so kind helped us with our requests without any hesitation.

It was a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Incredible and delicious breakfast with a great selection of options, homely and fairly clean place. Functional and huge rooms complete with modern conveniences, comfortable bed and nice shower, value for money. A very nice boutique building right in the heart of George Town. Early check in and excellent service overall. No charge for wake up calls and ironing too.

the architecture is amazing, blending history with modern comfort. air-conditioning control lights are annoyingly bright at night.

No bedside sockets for charging devices!!! Low voltage lighting gave headaches, and steep steps in the loft room pose challenges for elderly guests!!! The location feels a bit unkempt compared to other areas!!!

The heritage double room was spacious and comfy. The ice-cold water in the lobby after exploring was a nice touch.

i had a fantastic stay, as the hotel is just a short walk from famous places like penang road's cendol stalls and the colorful street art that makes exploring the area so much fun.

Beautiful interior with spacious rooms and a charming courtyard. The location is prime, close to local attractions and great dining options. The breakfast features a variety of both local and western dishes, catering to everyone 😊

Loved my stay here! The Heritage Double Room was spacious, with a comfy bed and a nice little pantry area that made it feel like home. Just a heads up, the bathroom window didn’t close fully, so keep the AC on to stay cool. 🌿

A beautiful colonial-style hotel that feels much cozier than typical corporate hotels. The Garden Room was spacious and well-appointed. Breakfast featured a generous variety, including good local dishes like Nasi Lemak. The location is fairly good for exploring the area, though bars are a 10-15 minute walk away. Be aware, though, that the sound from a nearby mosque can be noticeable, and some areas outside feel slightly unkempt.

Areca hotel penang is a charming place with a unique atmosphere. I was upgraded to a family room that was huge! It's perfect for families. The location is great, just near everything. The breakfast was lovely too, with the best omelette. The staff really took care of everything for me.
